Responsibilities

From the bottom of our heart, thanks for training with Metal Wellness, and partnering with us to improve your fitness ❤️💪

Here is a guide on how we should all go about business together. It’s written in plain English, and is based on the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated.

This guide is always a work in progress.

Mindset First—Lifting Second

Many factors go into a good workout and active lifestyle. Two main factors are sleeping well and eating properly. You can work your ass off in the gym, but if you aren’t eating good foods in the correct amounts, or getting sufficient sleep; then recovery, muscle building, tissue healing, and fat loss will be substantially impaired.

Please make these two pillars a priority in your day-to-day. We are always happy to advise.

Who is in charge of What?

You are in charge of you, and your trainer is in charge of the workout. If a workout movement isn’t a good idea because of an injury, or it hurts, DO NOT push through. Tell your trainer what’s going on.

We like to have a good environment where we challenge ourselves, but do not make bad decisions that can lead to injuries.

Ask Questions

Your trainer is HAPPY to share knowledge with you. That’s why we’re all here!

“What is a good fat loss goal for the next 2 months?”

“I’d like to be able to do pull-ups. What can we do to work toward that?”

“Will you help me decide if I should be taking this fitness supplement?”

“Why are we using this workout format lately?”

“Is stretching really this important?”

All great questions.

No Bitching

Exclaiming is always allowed. You can swear, appeal to a deity, or just say gaaahh!

“I’m dying,” “How do you sleep at night?” or “This is a bitch” are perfectly acceptable.

If you find yourself complaining about your workout, remember why you started improving your fitness.

If you think the format of your workouts should change, discuss with your trainer. If you have a special request, your trainer will try to work it into that day’s plan if possible, or a day in the future.

If you find yourself not wanting to do a certain workout movement that day, suck it up. We do certain things during our workouts to achieve our goals.

Enjoy the trees on your way through the forest.

Training Packages and Billing

Metal Wellness offers tiered packages of one-on-one weekly training for the purpose of facilitating consistency in your week-to-week. If you choose a longer duration for your package, the price per training session is lower than a package for a shorter duration. Fitness takes patience and work, and you are rewarded the longer you keep it up.

When you finish your training package, you have the option to choose another package, or to continue indefinitely at the same rate of the package you finished.

If you have an active package, and Metal Wellness raises the rates for training, you will not be affected because your price is locked for the duration of your package. If you are training indefinitely, and Metal Wellness needs to make a modest rate increase, you will be notified 30 days in advance of the rate increasing.

There is a per diem rate for training, if you choose not to use a package. Available upon request.

Metal Wellness offers small group training for groups of 2-5 people for a lower rate per person than one-on-one training.

Metal Wellness accepts checks, cash, or a few types of digital payments. We do not use credit cards. Payments are due in advance for the upcoming month.

Booking

We usually schedule one week out. Calendly.com runs our scheduling operations. The preferred ways to make appointments are

  1. to have regular appointments that your trainer enters for you each week, or

  2. to enter your own appointments once the schedule is open for the week.

The latter is for clients who have a varied schedule, and are not able to keep concrete times. Your trainer will notify you between Friday and Sunday when the calendar is open for the upcoming week.

Metal Wellness will use the email address you provided to create appointments. You will receive a confirmation email generated by Calendly for each appointment. If you sign-in to your calendar app with the same email address Metal Wellness has on file for you, then your training session will auto-populate on your calendar (which is super convenient).

The confirmation email and the automatic calendar entry will each have a Reschedule and Cancellation link for that session. If you need to modify your appointment, please try these links before you notify your trainer.

The Booking page can be found here:

Rescheduling and Cancellations

Your time and our time is precious. We will do everything we can to make sure that we don’t waste yours, and kindly ask that you do the same for us.

If you know you cannot show up for your next session, please click the Cancel link on your confirmation email or on the calendar entry for that session, and then text your trainer ASAP to confirm.

A cancellation made 12 hours in advance will not be held against your account. A cancellation made within 12 hours of your appointment will result in that session being billed as usual.

We are more interested in you getting your workout than billing you, but the schedule is tight. If you need to cancel a session, but we can smoothly reschedule to a different time that week, that is preferred over cancellation. We can’t guarantee that we will find a slot to reschedule into.

Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.

Life happens sometimes.

If your trainer makes a mistake and does not show up to a scheduled training, he will offer his abject apologies, and credit a no-charge training to your account.

Accidental Double Bookings

If for some strange reason you are involved in a double booking, and it is your trainer’s mistake, you and your new workout partner will be offered a two-on-one workout for that appointment free of charge.

Absence

If you or your trainer have to be absent for any length of time e.g., for travel, your account will simply be placed on pause. Your billing date will likely be pushed ahead as a result.

Your trainer will probably not be in the gym during major holidays.

Referrals and Bringing a Guest

Feel free once in a while to bring a guest—just for fun, or to recommend that they start training. We are happy to do this courtesy at no charge! Just let your trainer know in advance. (We will ask your guest to agree to a waiver).

If you send someone our way, and they purchase a training package, we will credit your account for a session as a thank-you.

Early Termination

If circumstances change, and you need to end your training package early, because packages have tiered prices, we need to charge the difference in rates for the sessions that we have completed.

For example, if you initially intended to complete 6 months of training, but decided to stop after 4 months, and the difference in session rates is $2, then we would take the number of sessions completed times $2.

Early termination does not apply to clients who are training indefinitely.
